60-Day Trial & Return Policy

1. The 60-day clinical trial

Every Crown Down kit ships with a 60-day trial. Within 60 days of the delivery date shown on your shipment tracking, you may return the kit for any reason, including that you simply weren’t satisfied that Crown Down outperformed the drills you were using before, and receive a full refund of the $3,495 purchase price plus the original shipping charge.

The trial is intentionally low-friction. It exists to let a clinician evaluate the kit on their own patients, in their own operatory, with their own implant systems, over the first handful of clinical cases. That’s typically 3–5 osteotomies for a mid-volume practice, well within the 60-day window.

Both used and unopened kits are eligible. A clinician who has run several cases with Crown Down and concluded it doesn’t fit their workflow is covered by the trial in the same way as a buyer who never opened the packaging. This is a change from earlier Crown Down policy (which restricted refunds to unopened kits). The trial replaces that restriction outright, effective 2026-08-23.

2. How to start a return

1. Email info@crowndownkit.com with your order number and a short note on why you’re returning. A specific reason is helpful for our records but is not required.
2. Crown Down replies within one business day with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and a prepaid return shipping label for your address.
3. Pack the kit (opened or unopened) in the original box, or any reasonable equivalent, and attach the label. Drop the package with the carrier indicated on the label.
4. Once we receive the return, we’ll email confirmation and initiate the refund the same business day.

3. Refunds

Once a return is received, Crown Down issues a refund to the original payment method (typically the credit card, bank transfer, or wallet used at checkout) for the full $3,495 purchase price plus the $100 original shipping charge. Taxes (VAT, sales tax) collected at checkout are refunded in full.

Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days of receipt in typical cases, and no later than 30 days after we receive the returned item. Depending on your bank, the credit may take an additional 3–5 business days to appear on your statement.

4. Defective or damaged products

If your kit arrives with damage, missing components, or a drill with a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 7 days of receipt at info@crowndownkit.com or +1 (844) 722-3737. Include photos of the packaging and the affected component.

At Crown Down’s discretion, we will either send a free replacement of the affected item or issue a full refund including all shipping costs. Defective returns are covered outside the 60-day trial window and do not require an RMA to begin an initial conversation.

5. Wear-performance guarantee (after the trial)

Beyond the 60-day trial, every Crown Down drill is guaranteed against loss of cutting performance under normal clinical use. A drill that has been sterilized and used according to the published protocol, and has demonstrably lost cutting performance (through symptoms such as chatter, elevated torque at drilling depth, or measurable diameter change under the sterilizable calipers we can supply on request), will be replaced at no charge for the working life of the kit.

This guarantee is a wear-performance warranty, not an unlimited-return guarantee, and does not cover damage from incorrect sterilization, dropping the drill, or use outside the published protocol.

6. Exchanges

You may exchange a kit or drill for a different size or SKU of equal value within the same 60-day trial window. To start an exchange, email info@crowndownkit.com with your order number and the SKU you’d like to swap to; we’ll issue an RMA and ship the replacement once the returned item is received.

For exchanges to a higher-priced item, we’ll invoice the price difference before shipping the replacement. For exchanges to a lower-priced item, the difference is refunded to the original payment method. Return shipping is free (prepaid label) for exchanges.

7. Reasonable-use limits

The 60-day trial is intended to let a practicing clinician evaluate the kit on early clinical cases, not to serve as a free indefinite rental. Crown Down reserves the right to prorate a refund or decline a return where the kit shows clinical wear substantially beyond what would be expected from a reasonable trial (for example, evidence of use on dozens of osteotomies). This clause is invoked rarely and in good faith; any decision to prorate is communicated in writing along with our reasoning.

8. Non-returnable items

• Custom-labeled, engraved, or bulk-order items placed under a written purchase agreement (unless defective)
• Digital or downloadable materials

9. Sales regions

This policy applies to all orders shipped to the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other supported markets. For orders outside the EU/US, the buyer is responsible for any import duties, customs fees, or local medical-device registration charges paid on the original shipment; these amounts are not refundable.

10. Cancellations before shipment

Orders can be cancelled for a full refund at any time before the shipment leaves our warehouse. Email info@crowndownkit.com with your order number as early as possible. Once the shipment has been handed to the carrier, the 60-day trial policy above applies.

This policy was last updated on 2026-08-23. Crown Down reserves the right to update these terms at any time; the version in effect at the time of your purchase is the version that applies to your order.
